NBA Draft

The NBA draft is a draft where teams pick new rookie players from college or high school. There is a lottery draft in New York where the NBA puts 14 ping pong balls into a lottery machine and the team with the worst record gets the most ping pong combinations, the second worst team gets the second most ping pong combinations, and etc. Before the draft, all the players coming in the draft go on a bus, eat with each other, take pictures, and get to have fun and get to know each other better. If any team picks you first in the whole draft it means the NBA thinks you will have a great future. The first pick of the 2013-14 NBA draft was Andrew Wiggins, he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He then was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin love who is a three time all-star and was in the 2012 summer Olympics. Andrew played college basketball for Kansas University, he was 2014-2015 rookie of the year, and he is a member of the Canadian national team. This coming season, the NBA drafts 1st pick was Karl Anthony Towns. He was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves, the Timberwolves organization thought that Towns can have a great future so that's why he was 1st pick in the NBA draft. Towns joined the NBA, from the professional college team Kentucky. As you can see the draft is the most exciting time for new players.
